Ethics and Compliance Lead role for a Global Biopharmaceutical Company, Germany

Note: This role can be graded as Senior Manager or Associate Director and is located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. A full and generous relocation package is available and some home working might be available depending upon your level, capability and location. Both grades come with a strong basic, bonus, and the higher grading a car and long-term incentive scheme.

Note: My client has committed to do digital hiring using Skype, and has a new digital on-boarding process in place to allow a smooth transition during MERS-COV-2 outbreak. During the next period, new hires will be allowed to work from home, until such a time occurs when normal working returns.

About My Client

Our client is a highly-rated and successful biopharmaceutical company with a global footprint. Their drug discovery is in-house and the company has 4 or so modalities in its’ full pipeline as well as many successful marketed products.  

The business is scaling-up and requires new leaders to join in the area of Ethics, Compliance, Funding, Transparency and Disclosure. As part of this commitment to deploy to the business a set framework for the business units and the senior managers to rely upon, and be guided by, we are hiring for the position of Ethics & Compliance Lead to manage the German speaking clusters (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

As this is a constantly changing self-regulated environment (as they are a member of the FSA) we are seeking an individual who can manage complexity and act as an adviser to senior members of the regional leadership team, conduct review and thorough assessments on for Bribery & Corruption, Data Transparency, Data Protection & compliant Promotion, enable better process improvement for compliance on a risk-based approach, with solid program rollout for new tools, SOPs, training and trackers, and where this role adds value in one way, is you will be the interface with the senior managers / stakeholders and their teams. The role comes with a direct report to help you.

Your Skills & Expertise

You consider yourself a business leader - an enabler with a pragmatic and matured mindset and with the experience to drive Ethics & Compliance programs, ensure accountability is built into the organization roll out to the 3 affiliates. You want to ensure that an ethical framework and an effective compliance program is in place but moreover you will want to be the person that acts for and consults to the business to enforce positive behaviors and help them navigate through potential risks.

You will be supported by an individual who is very collaborative, wants to hire an effective leader that can articulate well, strong presentation skills and thinking, and able to deliver advisory and training.

Ideal Backgrounds

You will be working in any role where there is a substantial element of your current role covering Ethics, Compliance, or Change Management in the topics: Transparency, Disclosure, Ph IV / IIS Funding, Grants, Medical Compliance, Promotional Compliance or Training. 

Packages

Both grades come with a strong basic, bonus, and the higher grading a car and long-term incentive scheme. The role comes with a competitive salary and high-end package, and our client is willing to fund a relocation with all that is necessary for the right candidate, including financial and logistical support to find a new place to live for those located outside of Germany.
