Gene Therapy DSP Scientist filtration on AAV
Relocation: This role is in Belgium and comes with full relocation. If Covid still runs, they will bring you over and you will initially work from a temporary apartment until you find your own place, at their expense and cost. You will benefit from a relocation package which includes tickets, logistics, removals and a settling in allowance. The Hiring and On-Boarding process is completed online.
About this opportunity:
I would like to let you know about this new position for a well-established R&D Biotech company based in Europe with several late phase programs and commercialized products, now looking to hire a Downstream Process Scientist for Gene Therapies.
This organization is a global Biotech with existing small and large molecules with a successful track record in registering products including mAbs and now, they intend to bring their VVs into clinic in the next 12 months and therefore they are building their manufacturing team.
The reason I think this role will appeal to you is that you will be part of the team responsible for the development and production of rAAV gene therapy assets and will support the process development, characterization and tech transfer of AVV purification processes for these Gene Therapy programs as well as authoring and reviewing technical documents (SOPs, study designs, etc.)
You will be one the scientific experts for the DSP team internally, cross-functionally and with the stakeholders (CDMOs) providing your scientific expertise and helping to establish and make operational a manufacturing and development facility for Gene Therapy assets while helping to define the AAV production platform.
Your experience and skills:
Our client is looking for a professional who has a MsC or PhD in Biology/Biochemistry, Chemical/Bioengineering or Virology with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a GMP environment working on PD, manufacturing or bioengineering with solid knowledge on DSP techniques such as TFF, NFF and Chromatography.
Good understanding in English both spoken and written is mandatory, and in French would be desirable.

During the design and build of the Gene Therapy facility, remote work will be in place, before facility start-up, there is 10% chance to travel as well to the US to support operations and then will move on-site to support the start-up and operations when facility has the green light.
