Job Description

Regulatory Affairs Director - Global Policy & Intelligence Lead, Berkshire

Our medium sized Biotechnology client is looking for a global Regulatory Leader of Policy & Intelligence to be based in Berkshire/West Greater London.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing Biotechnology company within Immunology with a strong pipeline of both early and late stage projects (including Gene Therapy products). Our client is already very well-known and has a number of leading products already on the market. They have also been steadily growing and expanding their development pipeline and have a number of strong indications where there is a great deal of positive expectation.

The Global Policy department is also growing and expanding and this role is seen as key part of its future development, working closely with the Head of Regulatory Affairs on growth, recruitment and development pathways -  it’s an exciting role with lots of variety and numerous areas of influence.

Based in the M4 corridor, close to West of London and Heathrow, it’s easily commutable from most parts of West Greater London and there are also high levels of flexibility around home working where needed.

The role is titled Regulatory Affairs Director of Global Policy & Intelligence and comes with team leadership responsibilities. Your remit will be to establish and maintain strong relationships with groups including Health Authorities, the EMA, trade associations and the pharmaceutical industry in a matrix environment where connectivity is key.  You will also provide expertise into the teams to ensure Health Authority needs and requirements are fully understood and included.

In the short-to-medium term you will help to build and develop a strong and influential Policy and Intelligence team who enjoy working with GRL’s and Regional liaisons on regulatory strategy and development pathways. In the longer term, you will help to educate the regulatory function on future policy issues and grow your sphere of influence within the trade associations and pharmaceutical industry.

Ideally you will already have extensive regulatory policy experience with a proven track record of strategic agility and experience with engagement and relationship building with regional/local Health Authorities, the EMA and/or trade associations. Or you will come from one of the major HA’s or trade associations and want to move over to an expanding Biotechnology company in a growing Policy department in a leadership role. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential and you should also enjoy the challenges of Global product development!

In essence this role is all about leveraging your knowledge (of the health authorities, regulatory science and trade associations) to inform the organization and represent this organisation externally, integrating functional expertise with business knowledge to solve problems and make good decisions for the overall business.

The role is graded Director level, so expect a six-figure salary, strong bonus, company car/car allowance, a strong LTi/share allowance and comprehensive medical and healthcare packages.
