Sr Clinical Physician & Clinical Adviser ** Drive NMEs in CV & Rare Diseases ** Northern Home Counties
Note: This role is based in the Cambridge / Hertfordshire area, and is easily commuted (2-3 days a week after Covid, home based during Covid), form North / North East London, Herts, Beds, Cambs, and most parts of East Anglia and south Leicestershire. The role comes with a high end basic salary, bonus and stock plan. The company will consider stock buyout to a reasonable level.
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a company working in an area of high unmet need, and with a development strategy to bring NMEs to the patient in both rare indications and wider clinical labels in cardio, liver and kidney diseases. Why rare? Because you will be primed in time, based on your merit to join the senior LT, and because you will be one of the key people in helping this company grow, from a small tightly knit team, to a larger entity as the clinical programs mature.
This is a clinical development MD role, so you will be a qualified Physician with experience in ideally internal medicine, possibly in NASH, Fibrosis or other liver, kidney or genetic / rare diseases. The role is primarily to keep oversight of the clinical programs, by working with the CROs, and their teams, provide input into clinical protocols, monitor the monitors, and evaluate data. You will be a key member for the readouts, and work with regulatory and commercial / access in due course to enable NDA/MAA submissions.
The LT is polished, commercially driven but clinically and regulatory aware as well as being engaging and ethical. We have worked with some of their newer hires for over a decade and they come with a decent reputation and expertise in their cross-functional area we can be assured by. The pipeline has some decent milestones to achieve in the next 12 months including a full MAA/NDA, so you will be busy supporting this and the several other clinical programs. The role will require travel but nothing out of the ordinary, and they are very supportive with their people in terms of digital hiring and digital working.
For this role, we are seeking someone who wants to work for a smaller incubator and drug development company, and has a wider set of skills than just pure clinical science or clinical development, but more importantly, help the organization make the right decisions based on data where possible, and act as a support for regulatory interactions, provide insights on the MACE regulations and work with consultants, pharmacologists and statisticians. You will also engage KOLs but for clinically related activity (this is not a medical affairs role).
